Devils Kill Devils

On the happiest night of Sarita’s life, her guardian angel violently kills her new husband. What follows is an unexpected journey through religious trauma, vengeance, and bloody, brutal vampires.

This book grabs you by the throat in the very first chapter. It is definitely a literary style horror that some may find more difficult to follow. However, the dark, gothic tone is masterfully written, and the tension builds beautifully throughout. As a child of the 80s, I’ve always been a big fan of monsters being monsters, and this novel does an exceptional job of allowing the darkness to bleed and the monsters to bite. I went into this book fairly blind and was pleasantly surprised by the direction that it took. The gore and horror are well-written without being exaggerated or nonsensical. It kept me engaged, and I had a hard time tearing myself away in the final chapters. I truly enjoyed this novel and look forward to more from this author.
